This specialist Audio Visual company wanted a site redesign () in-line with the professional tailored service they provide. A major selling point of AV Display over its competitors is its ability to source, supply and install systems that are carefully tailored to the individual requirements of a particular project. The new site needed to emphasise this personalised service and encourage site visitors to contact AV Display about their specific requirements.
Brief/Requirements
- Redesign and build a company website incorporating existing branding and logo (with some flexibility in terms of logo style and colours).
- Company is built on its personal service, therefore visitors need to be encouraged to make contact with AV Display either by phone or Email.
- Provide value as a marketing tool while specifically avoiding selling individual products online.
- Ability to track the success of site at an individual page level.
Outcome
- Designed and developed an XHTML/CSS website separating style from content as much as possible to ensure future expansion of the site is quick and simple.
- Some ECMA DOM JavaScript enhancements were included to allow inline scrollbars.
- ECMA DOM Scripted random image rotator for manufacturer logos appearing along the bottom edge of the site.
- Care was taken to ensure the site is still navigable with images switched off. Even the graphical scrollbars.
- Case Studies were included to help convey the tailored and flexible nature of the service AV Display provides and the variety of projects they have worked on previously.
- Graphic redesign in-line with the professional nature of the service the company provides. This included a change in colour scheme and a slight reworking of the existing company logo to give it a more contemporary feel. The new logo and color scheme has also been rolled out through the rest of the business.
- Installed a PHP based site statistics area that allows the administrator to track individual page popularity, search engine interest and search terms used to find the site.
